30x30 :: Biker Babe

Okay fine. I'm not really a biker babe but I did check off another item on my list! 4. Ride on the back of a Harley – or other certifiably bad ass bike….preferably with a bad ass biker.

I had fun! Although, I will say that I think I need more practice to actually be considered a biker babe. I got a little nervous going around corners and also whenever I saw gravel up ahead....but all in all I think I kept my cool. My certifiably bad ass biker actually had a tougher go of it than I did. Apparently, 'I kept trying to steer'. No one's surprised, right?

The bike itself was brand spanking new. It's a Triumph Scrambler and I must say it was pretty rad. As far as presents to self go I deem this an excellent one!  Thanks so much for sharing it with me and my silly list!

Nice bike Bad Ass Biker - Congrats on having your first C/M trip under your belt - Squuueeeee!!!!!!!!!

A Seafaring Legacy.

When I got home there was the COOLEST present waiting for me. My Auntie the Historian (aka Histoiauntie) sent me three books that belonged to my Grandpa.

My Grandpa was in the Navy during WWII and these were his 'instruction' books. They are essentially Naval reference guides.

What flag do you hoist? What uniform to wear? When is it okay to use the Captains gig? What to do on each watch? When can you scrub your clothes on deck? Read all about it here!!!

While these books are clearly from a distant past they are amazingly relevant! I kept reading excerpts and thinking 'Hey! I do that!'.

Historiauntie, tres cool.

Mahalo Nui Loa!!!!!

Choosing.

I've been making decisions lately.  Choosing. I'm going to take my time with the Georgia posts.  I'm feeling rushed.  I don't want to short change my time there.  I really want to give Georgia its due.  This port stay made a bit of an impact on me - and honestly, as fruity as this sounds - I think I'm still 'processing'.  Expect more on Georgia but, I'll be posting about my land lubbing again.

I'm very excited to report that:  I'm going to Hawaii next week!  Yippeeee!  I'll be there for a whole month.  So excited.

That is all.

(You thought there was going to be more, didn't you?)
