A walk in the park...

Right near my house is a really nice wooded area to walk....although you need to walk through the cemetery to get there. I love it because it's literally one block away so, when I feel like I'm getting stagnant in the house (read:  fairly often) I can just put on some boots and suddenly I feel like I'm in the wilderness.

I snapped these photos before I took off for Houston and Norfolk.  I loved them but never posted them...I decided that must be remedied.

I can't even tell you  how long I sat next to the duck pond.  I probably have about 50 duck photos sitting on my hard drive.  Since I can't decided which one I liked best you get a few...stationary wings or flapping wings...so hard to choose!

Today's Doings.

Today I'm sitting through my last day of leadership training. I decided jeans were appropriate - I mean, it is Friday after all. I'm folding cranes like a mad woman (No. 7). I figure, since I'm sitting here like a zombie cranes are allowed. I'm flying back to Maine tonight. I'm majorly looking forward to sleeping in my bed tonight.....and also not falling asleep with a slightly hazy head from too many cocktails and sore feet from a day spent in heels. (Rhiannon, I don't know how you do it girl!)

A Little Love Affair

I'm having a little love affair. With my purse. Several things you should know about me: a) LOVE me a new purse. b) like efficient 'travel' accessories. c) travel fairly often. d) Big Bertha (my beloved but beefy DSLR) requires consideration when purchasing travel accessories and / or purses.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Kelly Moore Bags. The Best. I bought one a few years ago (The Posey - the older Posey was a teensy bit different...). It ended up being a little too small for my everyday needs but nice for a more active day trip.

I'm currently rocking the 2 Sues and Oh-Emm-Gee. This bag is the bestest.

It's just big enough. There are lots of pockets. It's well padded. There are adjustable padded dividers to help protect my camera gear. My iPad fits perfectly. I could go on and on. Bottom line? It's practical and sassy.

I get TONS of compliments. TONS.

Sometimes, when I've been walking through airports all day long, and my dogs are barking, I think about how awesome my bag is and get a little burst of much needed energy!

Nautie Notes :: Playing Catch Up

Dear US Airways,Why are your planes so small? That is all.

Dear Norfolk, VA, I like you a little more every time I visit. You can be quite charming.

Dear Starbucks, I take back what I said before. I'm happy the Red Cups are here.

Dear Dogs Everywhere, I'd love to have a pooch. Someday when I don't ship out and when I don't fly all over all the time....unless you wanna be a ship dog. That would be cool too.

Dear Apartment Hunting Fairies, You can step in anytime now. I could use a little help here. Sheesh!

Dear Nautie Book Readers, I haven't started Gone Girl yet. Have you?

Dear Nautie Friends, Why do I always feel like I'm one step behind? Oh right, because I am. There are good things coming....I've checked a few things off the 30x30 list....I've visited old friends and new ones.....I made another ship visit. Thanks for patiently awaiting my return!
