Aloha Kakahiaka!

One of my all time favorite things to do when I'm home is wake up really early.  I get up and make some coffee (my signature orange goodness - I'll have to officially blog about this soon).  I throw on a hoodie or a hat and I head down to the water with my coffee and camera.  I like to be there right when the sun is coming up.  I especially like it when I'm the only person there.

Sometimes I sit on the rocks and just watch...and sometimes I wander around with my camera.  Every morning is a little bit different.  Sometimes I see turtles and sometimes I see colorful fish - lately I've been seeing nothing!  I was sitting on the rocks one morning when a little ray came up from the sand right below my feet (my Mom was with me thank goodness...its so much more fun to be able to share something that cool with someone else)!

Lately our mornings have been really wet.  Sometimes I wait out the drizzles in the car and sometimes I sit under the lifeguard tower.  Lots of clouds and misty horizons - I'll take it anyway it comes!

The second part of the morning routine occurs when I get home.  I have been wandering around my yard taking photos of dripping wet plants.  My favorite photos hands down have been the shots of the taro leaves.  Love these huge life sustaining leaves!

Soooo...

Aloha Kakahiaka!

A big good morning from Hilo!
