I Found A Ship!

Honestly, the way I found a ship was a bit of a miracle.  I drove across the country on a whim thinking, 'California might have something for me'.  I spent one day sniffing around and then - Boom!  A ship!  I had honestly been expecting to be here for about a month and a half.  I was prepared to pick up some small jobs on the side and then wait for a chance at a deep sea job.

My mind felt blown but mostly, I just felt so blessed.  Here I am, not out of money yet, living with the best kind of family friends, eating yummy salads at candlelit picnic tables, walking dogs and talkin' story, getting so lucky and snagging amazing jobs.  Crazy blessed.

I'm officially in 'whirling dervish' mode.  Running errands, making last minute phone calls, meeting for bubbly with friends, repacking my sea bag and you know....drinking coffee and then instagramming it.

I'll be checking in here and there but, I expect things will be a little quieter than usual...

Mettle Mission : Day Sixty Two

Today I'm waking up in Tucson, Arizona after watching the sunset in Nowheres-Ville New Mexico. 

Lets see see where the road leads me!  I've resigned myself to the fact I can't do the trip in two days. I guess I have time to stop and smell the flowers!

I'm channeling:  Cool, Calm, Collected as I get back on I-10.  

I cant any wait to share my pictures from this trip!!

Confession. I didn't leave yesterday. I wasn't ready, I felt rushed and, my fridge was full of food that required repurposing. So this morning is a do-over. I'm hitting the road....for real this time!

I picked this quote today for the simple fact that it contains the words 'a paved road' and I am hitting said paved road.

Although I will admit here that my trip might get delayed because I had a 'not-so-adult-moment' yesterday late afternoon where I realized my vehicle registration and safety inspection had expired and figure I should take care of that before hitting the road.....my bad.
